Leadership Series: Compassion Con
The last two years have been THE most challenging that those working in health and care have seen in their lifetime. Has there ever therefore, been a more pivotal time for leaders to be compassionate to themselves and others? As the pressures of the pandemic start to ease, let’s collaborate to ensure effective leadership is at the very heart of health and social care in Wales working “Together Towards Tomorrow”.
On the 30th March 2022, we launched a Compassion Con Conference to Reflect, Recover and Recharge. Below you will find the Compassion Con series which was recorded during the conference.

Speaker: Dr Rajvinder Samra - Chartered Psychologist, Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
Summary: Rajvinder Samra is a Chartered Psychologist and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She also works as a Senior Lecturer at The Open University. Her educational background is in Applied Psychology (PhD, University of Nottingham, 2013).
Rajvinder researches psychological and mental performance at work or in academic study. She is particularly focused on the influence of chronic work stress and burnout in healthcare and legal settings. In this talk, she describes how to recognise and recover from work stress and burnout, and educate about how to identify the signs of deteriorating personal coping and reduced work performance.

Speaker: David Liddle
Summary: David Liddle is the Chief Exec of The TCM Group. He explores the link between culture and climate. Specifically, he examines how our behaviours influence climate and ultimately organisational culture.
David has developed significant expertise and authority in the areas of organisational dynamics, conflict resolution and transformational culture. He is author of two highly acclaimed books ‘Managing Conflict’ and ‘Transformational Culture’.
