Healthcare Science Cymru 2024 will be bigger and better this year! We have combined with the Welsh Scientific Advisory Committee (WSAC) annual symposium to bring you a 2-day conference in Cardiff on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th March 2024.

The venue this year is The Angel Hotel in Cardiff. This is an in-person only event with tickets available for both days. Please note there is a limit of one ticket for each day per account so we can accommodate any specific dietary, access, or additional requirements.

Healthcare Science

This is a leadership dedicated space for all fellow
Healthcare Scientists across Wales to learn, reflect and develop…

This space is dedicated to supporting the ambition of creating leadership resources for everyone. It is now acknowledged that leadership makes a significant contribution to shaping the culture of an organisation but often wrongly equates to a few individuals in senior positions. It is needed across all levels, across protected characteristics, in all services and settings (HEIW, 2020). The aim of the profession's hub is to facilitate the development of leaders throughout the ranks, building a culture of compassion. Compassionate leadership seeks to attract, continuously support, and develop a flexible and agile workforce (West, 2021). Furthermore, the Healthcare Science framework highlights a need for the development of national leadership plans within Healthcare Science (Welsh Government, 2018).

In the Leadership resource section below, you will find a wealth of educational materials and videos, that will grow further over time. These are available at all levels and help towards equivalence processes and solving your leadership challenges!

The Leadership Programmes and Offerings icon signposts to leadership development opportunities including competitive opportunities, available to Healthcare Scientists to build upon your current skills and experience in a structured format.

For the latest opportunities to get involved in strategic development, collaborate, and develop the national profile of Healthcare Science, access the Healthcare Science Programme webpages – for example getting involved in working groups, secondments, supporting career promotion and more.
