Leadership happens at all levels of our organisations and shapes the cultures we work in. This programme will equip the next generation of leaders with the skills and experience to support their colleagues and teams, to provide exemplary services to communities across Wales.
The Emerging Leaders Programme places Compassionate Leadership at the heart of leadership development. The programme provides a supportive, inclusive environment to explore your development, delivered virtually to work around you.

About the Programme
The Emerging Leaders programme is design to equip new and aspiring leaders as they step into leadership and management roles. After attending you will be able to:
- Demonstrate Compassionate Leadership in leading teams and services.
- Use coaching skills when supporting colleagues and team members.
- Feel confident to step into leadership roles and progress in your career.
Partnership
This programme is offered in partnership with the Institute of Health and Social Care Management (IHSCM). Leaders and managers in healthcare in Wales have free access to the additional IHSCM offerings outside of this programme by applying for a membership through HEIW.
Suitability
The programme is running a pilot cohort which is open to anyone working in NHS Wales. The programme is aimed at staff who are new or aspiring leaders and are looking to improve their skills and gain a foundation on which to build their career.
Following the pilot, the programme suitability may be updated to provide increased access.

† - This event will invite a number of speakers with a wide variety of experience to discuss topics around implementing practical compassion in difficult times. There will be a facilitated discussion, followed by an audience Q&A.
Additional optional sessions will be made available during the programme but will not be required to complete the programme. These sessions will cover topics such as:
