VENTURE: Exploring Leadership
and Management


Venture is the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) Leadership and Management framework that supports the development of both the leaders of today and our leaders of the future.

The framework aims to develop our staff and equip them with the right tools and knowledge to lead, not just their own success but also the success of others. A leader’s journey takes time, and becoming a great leader is a continuing lifelong journey. Celebrating successes, acknowledging failures, learning lessons and making sacrifices all form part of the journey.

Explore what learning opportunities are on offer, that can assist in commencing your leadership journey or continue to build on your existing leadership knowledge and skills, which in-turn will enable you to add new tools to your leadership and management toolkit.

There are six pathways to explore within the framework ranging from a pathway for everyone across BCUHB (Leadership for All), moving through the leadership and management levels from Foundational to Executive level learning.

Moel Famau Pathway

A leadership development pathway for all colleagues no matter what their role is within the organisation.

Mynydd Mawr Pathway

A pathway of learning for those new to leadership and management roles.

Cadair Idris Pathway

A pathway of learning for those mid-level leadership and management roles.

Moel Famau Pathway is designed to inspire everyone to contribute and develop potential, regardless of whether they are in a formal leadership role.

Mynydd Mawr Pathway provides supervisors, managers and leaders with the knowledge and core skills required to effectively manage services and staff at Betsi.

Cadair Idris Pathway is aimed at established operational mid-level managers who are looking to gain further insight on personal impact and developing their teams.

Tryfan Pathway

A pathway of learning for those transitioning to senior leadership and management roles.

Glyder Fawr Pathway

A pathway of learning for those in senior leadership and management roles.

Yr Wyddfa Pathway

A pathway of learning for Executive Directors.

Tryfan Pathway has been designed for those transitioning from operational to senior management roles.

Glyder Fawr Pathway has been developed to provide learning on how to move beyond leadership within an area of professional expertise, into executive roles that span organisational boundaries.

Yr Wyddfa Pathway is a development pathway emphasising Strategic Systems Leadership and strategies of how the Executive group and Board can work as an effective team.
