The last two years have been THE most challenging that those working in health and care have seen in their lifetime. Has there ever therefore, been a more pivotal time for leaders to be compassionate to themselves and others? As the pressures of the pandemic start to ease, let’s collaborate to ensure effective leadership is at the very heart of health and social care in Wales working “Together Towards Tomorrow”.

Rajvinder Samra is a Chartered Psychologist and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She also works as a Senior Lecturer at The Open University. Her educational background is in Applied Psychology (PhD, University of Nottingham, 2013).
Rajvinder researches psychological and mental performance at work or in academic study. She is particularly focused on the influence of chronic work stress and burnout in healthcare and legal settings. In this talk, she describes how to recognise and recover from work stress and burnout, and educate about how to identify the signs of deteriorating personal coping and reduced work performance.
